Teaching and Learning

Teaching and learning services provide direct support to the teaching mission of the university. Services in this category include the management and provisioning of enterprise level instructional technologies, which allow instructors to manage, share, and develop course materials, and facilitate learning through collaboration technology.

Blackboard Learn

Blackboard is UIC's learning management system for course-related activities and grade reporting.

Equipment Lending

Students, instructors, and researchers can request short-term and long-term loans of various equipment to support their academic needs.

Grading and Proctoring

Assessing student learning can be done directly on Blackboard or using alternative tools to grade more efficiently, detect plagiarism, or proctor online exams.

Learning Spaces

Learning spaces include common-use classrooms and their technology, and centrally-managed physical and virtual computer labs, including the software installed in both environments.

Multimedia Creation Software

Multimedia creation software allows the creation of digital content for online consumption.

Multimedia Services

Instructors and students can access a variety of services to create multimedia materials for use in their courses, as well as multimedia assistance on academic projects.

Polling and Surveys

Online polling and surveys are a great way to engage your audience and get feedback from them.

Video Streaming

Echo360 and Panopto are the supported video streaming tools for UIC. Both tools are available from within Blackboard courses.

Virtual Classrooms

Virtual classroom solutions include Zoom and Google Meet. Additionally, Acadly and Echo360 offer student engagement capabilities that may benefit synchronous online, hybrid, and in-person classes.
