External NetIDs

What Is It?

Departments can set up UIC NetIDs for external affiliates such as guests or vendors who need access to UIC resources.

Requirements

A university affiliation (UIN). If the guest or vendor does not have a UIN, follow the instructions for Requesting a UIN from the University System Office of Treasury Operations

Where Can I Get It?

Select the Request External NetID button located on this page.

How Do I Use It?

Once the affiliate has a UIN, locate your unit Phonebook Contact and request them to create the NetIDs.
The Phonebook Contact should be able to use the create the external NetID using the Technology Solutions Services for External Affiliates web application. Only they can use that application.

How Much Does It Cost?

This service is funded by the University; there are no direct costs to clients.
