NOTE: It may take a few minutes to receive the email sent from noreply@illinois.edu, subject line: "2FA Temporary Code"
If you are attempting to access a page that's behind 2-Factor Authentication (2FA), you may use the instructions immediately below to authenticate in using your 2FA temporary passcode.
- Once you receive the email with your 2FA temporary passcode, please go to the login page for the UIC application/system you're attempting to log into
- If prompted, log in using your UIC NetID and password
- On the 2-Factor Authentication page that appears, click "Use a passcode"
- Enter (or copy & paste) the numerical passcode included in the email sent to you by noreply@illinois.edu
If you need to add a different device to your 2-Factor Authentication profile, please follow these instructions:
- Once you receive the email with your 2FA temporary passcode, please go to https://identity.uillinois.edu
- If prompted, log in using your UIC NetID and password
- Click "My 2FA Account" in the upper right-hand corner
- Click "Use a passcode"
- Enter (or copy & paste) the numerical passcode included in the email sent to you by noreply@illinois.edu
- Click "Add a new device"
If you have a few minutes, please ensure you have a RECOVERY EMAIL ADDRESS on file for your 2-Factor Authentication profile so you can generate your own temporary passcodes in the future, avoiding the need to call the Technology Solutions or AITS Service Desk.
- Go to https://identity.uillinois.edu
- If prompted, log in using your UIC NetID and password
- Authenticate into 2FA using any method provided
- Scroll down to "Recovery Email (recommended)"
- If you see the message "You don't have a recovery email on file", enter your non-university email address in the text field
- Click "Add"
