How do I connect to UIC-WiFi using a Chromebook?

Connecting to UIC-WiFi using a Chromebook device is simple!

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Select the wireless icon in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.


     
  2. From the corresponding menu that appears after clicking the wireless icon, select the Wireless Network option.


     
  3. Select UIC-WiFi


     
  4. Make the following changes to the corresponding dialogue box (see graphic below text):
    • Select “PEAP” for EAP method
    • Select “MSCHAPv2” for Phase 2 authentication.
    • Select “Do not check” for Server CA certificate.
    • Make sure “None installed” is selected for User certificate, if prompted.
    • Enter your UIC NetID (not your full email address) in the “Identity” field.
    • Enter your UIC password in the “Password” field.
    • Leave “Anonymous Identity” blank.
    • Make sure “Save identity and password” is checked.
    • DO NOT check “Share this network with other users” if provided as an option.




       
  5. After you have entered all the information in Step 4, Select Connect.


     
  6. Your device should now be connected to the UIC-WiFi network. Note that when you change your UIC password, you will need to forget the UIC-WiFi network, then follow the above steps again to reconnect with your updated credentials.
