This article summarizes how to connect to UIC-WiFi using different devices.
The UIC community wireless network identifies itself as UIC-WiFi. Only current students, faculty, and staff can use the UIC-WiFi. Visitors to UIC may be eligible to use UIC-Guest or Eduroam.
Choose the device you are trying to connect with and follow the prompts.
Connecting to UIC-WiFi using Windows
Connecting to our wireless network through Windows is easy with your UIC NetID and password.

Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open the Settings menu and click on Networks
- Select the network named UIC-WiFi

- When prompted, enter your UIC NetID in the Username field, and your UIC Password in the Password field.

- Windows will pop up with a message about being unable to verify the server's identity. Please press connect. Now you will be able to connect to UIC-WiFi.

- Note that when you change your UIC password, you will need to forget the UIC-WiFi network, then follow the above steps to reconnect with your new credentials. To forget the network, follow these steps:
- Select the wireless icon on the lower right hand corner of your screen and select "Network & Internet settings"
- Select "Wi-fi" from the window that pops up
- Select "Manage Known networks"
- Select the "UIC-WiFi" network, then select "Forget"

Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open the Settings/System Preferences app on your device, and select Wi-Fi.
- You will see a list of nearby wireless networks - choose UIC-WiFi from the list of options.
- When prompted, enter your UIC NetID in the Username field, and your UIC Password in the Password field, then select OK.
- If you are prompted to do so, Trust the security certificate.
- Your device will now finish connecting to the network. Note that when you change your UIC password, you will need to forget the UIC-WiFi network, then follow the above steps to reconnect with your new credentials.

Step-by-Step Instructions
- Press the Gear icon in the top right corner (settings button).
- Select Wi-Fi from the drop-down menu.
- Turn ON Wireless Networking.
- For Connect to a network, select: UIC-WiFi
- For EAP method, select: TTLS
- For Phase 2 authentication, select: PAP
- For CA certificate and User certificate, keep the default: (unspecified)
- For Identity, enter your UIC NetID.
- For Anonymous Identity, enter: Anonymous Identity
- The Password is your UIC password.
- Select Connect
- Your Kindle should display "Attempting to connect" and then your Kindle should be connected to UIC-WiFi. Note that when you change your UIC password, you will need to forget the UIC-WiFi network, then follow the above steps to reconnect with your new credentials.
