About this service

Description Microsoft Teams provides collaboration, phone, chat, voicemail, and audio/video conferencing services for departments, students, faculty, and staff.  Teams Phone, which provides telephone number dialing features, (including Contact Center, Auto-Attendants/Call queues, and E911) are provided to departments and eligible graduate students, faculty, and staff.

Features and tools Instant messaging (IM), phone, E911, long distance, audio/video conferencing and recording, Teams Town Halls, desktop sharing, PowerPoint sharing, and Auto-Attendants and Call Queues for call handling. Additionally, we offer a third-party Contact Center solution that integrates with the Microsoft Teams at an additional cost. Tools: User Settings Portal (microsoft.com)

Getting and using this service

Who can use the service Teams Eligibility: Microsoft 365, Licensing and Functionality (uillinois.edu); Teams Phone Eligibility: Graduate/professional students, faculty, and staff.
How to get the service Microsoft Teams is automatically provisioned for eligible faculty, staff, and students.  Requests for an individual's Microsoft Teams phone account, international long distance, auto-attendants/call queues, role-based phone accounts, and common area phones are submitted by Pinnacle Department Managers as service requests via Pinnacle.
Cost No additional cost for standard features, including domestic/international long distance. Additional license fees may be required for add-on features such as the Contact Center for Microsoft Teams.

Maintenance hours Service is redundant so it remains available during maintenance.  Scheduled maintenance performed on an as-needed basis from 9:00 pm to 3:00 am Monday through Friday.
