What Is It?
University Identification Numbers are generated automatically for employees and student applicants. In all other cases, the Office of Treasury Operations generates UINs only when requested for a valid need. Department heads, authorized unit sponsors, and ID Center staff may request UINs for persons who are eligible for an ID but do not have a UIN.
This process is not managed by Technology Solutions but it is the first step to create accounts for external affiliates.
