How can I use Zoom add-on licenses such as webinar, large meeting, and live caption translation in my Zoom meetings?

While the add-on Zoom features like webinars, large meetings, and live caption translation are not included in the standard Zoom meetings license provided to UIC faculty, students and staff, they are available for purchase. To obtain the appropriate license, visit the Zoom Video Communication Addon Option on the U of I WebStore.

Sharing an Add-On License

To share a purchased add-on license within a department, you will first need to request a Departmental Service Account.

  • Special Account Type = Service Account
  • Expiring Account = No
  • Select the Account Owner and Secondary Owner
  • Enter the email routing target (this is where password change reminders/etc will go)
  • Purpose and Additional Details = State that the account is for use with a Zoom add-on license. Also request that Duo 2FA be turned off for Zoom use with the account.

Once you have received confirmation that the service account has been created, submit the WebStore order. Once the WebStore order has been completed, reply to the Service Account request ticket, providing the WebStore order number and ask for the Zoom add-on licenses to be assigned to the service account.
