How can I access UIC Library resources when not on campus?

Some resources managed by the UIC Library require the use of the Virtual Private Network (VPN) when you are not physically on-campus.

For electronic collections, including scientific journals, subscribed to by the UIC Library (e.g. PubMed), use of the UIC VPN service is necessary to access these resources from off-campus. You can find more information on the VPN service at https://help.uillinois.edu/TDClient/37/uic/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=406.

Once you have the AnyConnect VPN installed, please note that for most Library resources, you will need to select the Library-Resources group in the AnyConnect login window, rather then General-Use.

The Virtual Private Network service allows you to securely access resources at UIC over a non-UIC Internet connection. While connected to the VPN, the client software works with the operating system to determine when you are accessing an Internet location that the client should protect. When you are accessing such a location, the VPN client encrypts the data.
