What Is It?
When the risk of using a specific technology for human subject research activities is unknown, the UIC Institutional Review Board (IRB) may require that a security assessment of the technology be performed. The Technology Solutions Information Security and Privacy Office works with investigators to perform a technology security assessment that can be provided as a response to the IRB.
Requirements
To provide an assessment, all requested information in the IRB Technology Security Assessment form is required.

How Do I Use It?
Fill out the request form with all requested information and await a response from the Technology Solutions Information Security and Privacy Office. In some cases, additional information or clarification may be necessary, thus, technology security assessment requests should be submitted as soon as possible so that there are no delays to your response to the IRB.
How Much Does It Cost?
This service is funded by Basic Bundle; there are no direct costs to clients.
