How do I expire or remove an employee from the UIC Directory?

This article explains how to expire or remove an employee from the directory using PBUpdate if you are an authorized Phonebook Contact.

When an employee leaves your department and if you are an authorized Phonebook Contact you must expire their affiliation with your department.

1. Search for them in PbUpdate either by UIN or NetID. You will notice at lease one affiliation listed on the right with a check box marked "Expire Now".
2. Select all the check boxes that correspond to your department and click on "Save all changes". This will remove the employee from the Directory and put them on a grace period of 90 days.
 
Remember, you will only be able to expire affiliations that are in departments that are under your PbContact authorization.
If for whatever reason the department needs the account(s) to be remove immediately you can send a message to directoryservices@uic.edu or accounts@uic.edu to have access removed.
