Server Load Balancing (SLB) and Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB) allow services to scale and be highly functional by distributing power-drawing services across multiple servers, so that load does not slow down the experience of these services for customers.

Usage constraints
Servers must be located in data centers where SLBs currently reside for SLB functionality, documented on SLB pages. For GSLB hostname must be individual hostname not a top of domain record. (Example: GSLB could not work with techservices.illinois.edu but could work with www.techservices.illinois.edu).
