About this service

Description This service is provided by the Technology Services Endpoint Services team. Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) is Microsoft's solution for automatically applying system and application patches to Windows systems. Technology Services hosts a central WSUS service and has partnered with a number of colleges to support secondary WSUS servers as well.  The WSUS service enables seamless software updates with little to no user intervention, keeping machines up-to-date with current standards.

WSUS is managed through Active Directory Group Policy. Clients will need to be on-campus, or use the VPN, in order to receive GPO policies; however, they do not subsequently require use of the VPN to access the WSUS service while off-campus.
