Kaltura: Editing Videos in My Media

Use the Video Editor feature under Edit to trim your videos or to create copies or clips.

To begin access My Media either through UIS Canvas or UIS MediaSpace

1. Locate the video that you would like to edit then either click the ✎ next to the title, choose the Action menu then Edit, or click the ••• then Edit
2. Launch the editor by clicking on the Launch Editor button to the right of the video player.
   
3. Save a copy by clicking on the Save a Copy button in the upper-right. Any changes you make will impact the original. It is a good practice to Save a Copy before you start trimming, in case you make a mistake, or change your mind.
   • This is also the only way to make a copy of a video, even if you don't want to change the original.
4. Set the metadata for the copy on the next page.
5. Now you're ready to start trimming. You can set a new start and end point, or chop in the middle. For more detailed instructions, you can consult Kaltura's Video Editor Tool’s documentation.
6. When ready, hit the Save button.
