What Is It?
Basic Science IT Support provides a poster printing service to qualified users.
Features
All posters are printed on 42" paper. Draft posters are of lower quality and are printed on bond paper. Final posters may be printed on glossy paper.
Requirements
A reservation must be made a week in advance to ensure printing availability. Printing is not available on demand. Draft prints are usually done within 24 hours of the reservation time, while final prints require a minimum of 48 hours. No exceptions please. Please ensure the following when submitting a file to print:
The maximum printing size for our Printer is 60x42 inches. Common sizes are 55x41 and 47x41 which allows for maximum utilization and correct printing of borders. Regardless of the size, posters are printed on 42 inch paper stock. Please remember to allow at least 1" on all sides for borders; you must set one dimension to be 41 inches or less or the printer will not accept the print job.
It is strongly discouraged to have color background. This uses a large amount of ink and subjects the poster subject to fading and smearing. Please use a white unprinted background for your poster.
1. Name your PDF with your last name, date and print type (Draft or Final); e.g. Smith_12042024_Final.pdf.
2. Files must be submitted in PDF format only. To save a PowerPoint slide to PDF, use File>Save As and choose PDF for file type, so the PDF will be the same size as the PowerPoint slide.
3. Check your PDF to ensure the size conforms to the printer specification above.
4. Please upload your PDF to the Posters folder shared in Box. The Posters folder in Box will be shared with you when you make your reservation.
5. Please respect due dates. Reprints of Final posters for typographic errors are not possible.
