How do I update my UIC email routing?

Summary

Your UIC email address is in the form netid@uic.edu, where 'netid' is your NetID. This is an email forwarding address, not an actual email account. In order to be used, netid@uic.edu must route to an actual email account, which for most people will be a UIC email account managed by Technology Solutions.

Body

Your UIC email address is in the form netid@uic.edu, where "netid" is your UIC NetID.

If you are active student, faculty, or staff, your netid@uic.edu email address must route to a university email account. The options for destination include:

  • UIC's Microsoft Exchange email system
  • Individuals whose primary affiliation is with another university in the University of Illinois System may forward to an email address in one of the following domains: illinois.edu, uillinois.edu, uis.edu, or wwtps.com

You may log in with your UIC NetID & password to view or make changes to your email routing.

Do not set your internal routing to uic.edu in the "custom email" field. If you do, you will not receive email from some UIC services like Listserv.
