How do I access network file shares managed by Technology Solutions?

To access network file shares managed by Technology Solutions you will need the following:

• Your UIC NetID prefixed by "ad\": ad\NetID
  For example, ad\adabyron.
• Your UIC password
• You must be on the UIC network or connected to the UIC VPN

On Windows:

1. Open File Explorer, right-click the This PC icon and select Map Network Drive.
   
   
    
2. For Drive:, use any unused letter, and for Folder:, use:  \\uicfs.server.uic.edu\share_name where "share_name" is your department's folder name.
3. Click Different user name and enter your AD credential: AD NetID and Technology Solutions password as described above.
4. Click Finish to map your Network Drive.

On Mac:

1. From Finder's top menu select Go then Connect to Server.
2. In the Server Address field enter smb://uic​fs.server.uic.edu/share_name where "share_name" is your department's folder name.
3. Click on Connect.

Connect to Server dialog

1. Enter your UIC NetID (without @uic.edu)
2. Enter your Technology Solutions password
3. Click Connect.
