This article summarizes how to troubleshoot when your students cannot access your Panopto videos. If it appears that the requests are coming from all students, it is likely occurring because the Panopto videos in your current course weren't copied over correctly from the previous course. You can either email LTS@uic.edu or follow the steps described here.
Advanced Troubleshooting for Panopto Video Access
If you are getting emails from your students with requests to watch a video, the first step is to determine if this is affecting ALL or only SOME.
Some Students Cannot Access
If it seems that the requests are only coming from some students, then your student just needs to enable third party cookies: How do I enable cookies on my (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Edge) browser?
All Students Cannot Access
If it appears that the requests are coming from all students, please email LTS@uic.edu for help or follow the steps below:
1. Locate the embedded Panopto video course that students cannot access.
2. Click the button on the bottom-right to "Open in Panopto."
3. Find the breadcrumb trail to see where the original video is located.
4. Click on the old course site in the breadcrumb trail. Note: you must have instructor access to that course to be able to do this process. If the video is located in another semester's Blackboard course, the permissions from that course's folder has not allowed the students/viewers from the current course to view to video.
5. Click on the Share button on the right hand side.
6. Under the field for invite people, enter in the courseID of your CURRENT course (you can find it on the main course page).
7. Choose the "Viewer" option. Note: Selecting Creator will give students instructor access to Panopto.
8. Click Send and save changes.
