Intro

The College of Education is using a zero touch deployment model for new Apple computers. This model requires input from several parties for it to go smooth. Once in place it facilitates the management of Apple computers.  

Instructions

  1. Turn on the computer.
  2. Click through the setup wizard.
  3. Connect to WiFi.
  4. Log in using your Illinois NetID and password.
  5. Create user account.
  6. Finish clicking through the setup wizard.
  7. Open the application Managed Software Center.
  8. Managed Software Center will find one update on the first run. 
  9. Click on Update, Managed Software Center will auto-close.
  10. Open Managed Software Center again.
  11. Allow it to find application installs and updates.
    • This will install Mirosoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Zoom, Box Drive, Chrome, Firefox and anti-virus. 
  12. Once ready, install updates.
  13. Perform restarts if the computer asks for it.
  14. After this step the computer is ready to be used.
