Faculty / Staff Activation

What Is It?

To access many authenticated university services and create accounts, new students, faculty, and staff must first activate their UIC NetID.

Faculty and staff will go through the “UI New Hire” portal to activate their NetID. Faculty and staff NetIDs are self-selected during the UI NewHire process.

Requirements

To activate a UIC NetID and access Technology Solutions accounts and services you must agree to the UIC Acceptable Use of Computational Resources Policy.

Service Request Fulfillment Time Created in real-time within the UI NewHire application.
Incident Resolution Time An outage of system or process involved in NetID creation and/or password management – restored within 1 business day. NetID Activation problem, individual - 1 business day.
NetID creation failure, individual - 3 business days.
Correction of identity record errors - Depending on the complexity of error and cross-functional involvement, may take up to 10 business days.
