Terminology note: This service was previously called a “course merge.” To align with Canvas terminology, it is now referred to as “cross-listing.” Both terms describe combining enrollments from multiple Canvas course sites into one primary course site.
Banner is the authoritative source for Canvas course sites. When courses are cross-listed in Banner by a department's program coordinator, the course sections are automatically cross-listed in Canvas.
Faculty may submit a request for manual Canvas cross-listing when their course sections have not already been cross-listed through Banner.
If course sections are already cross-listed through Banner, Learning Tools Support cannot alter the configuration. Faculty should contact their department's program coordinator, who can work with the Registrar to make any necessary changes in Banner.
To request manual Canvas cross-listing, select the Request Course Site Cross-List button to the right.
