Education Technology Services - IT Security

Who Is It?

Education Technology Services  provides IT security services to help protect the College of Education's computers, servers, networks, applications, and data. We work to identify and address security risks, maintain required security controls, and help users respond to security incidents while following University security policies and standards.

ETS supports security through endpoint protection, vulnerability management, system updates, access controls, security monitoring, malware removal, data protection, and incident response. We also assist faculty, staff, and departments with security related questions and help ensure College owned technology is securely configured and maintained.

  • Microsoft Defender for Endpoint installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Qualys vulnerability management agent installation and configuration.

  • Security software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Vulnerability scanning and remediation.

Where Can I Get Support?

  • If you suspect a security incident, malware infection, compromised account, or other security issue, submit a service request to us as soon as possible. For suspected security incidents, avoid deleting files or attempting extensive troubleshooting before we can review the device, as this may remove information useful for investigation.

How Much Does It Cost?

No charges to College of Education affiliates. Some services may require additional approvals.

Incident Resolution Time Varies based on the type of question or problem or availability of the user. Within 7 business days for low impact/urgency
