How do I provide Intune Tenant Info to vendors for Autopilot Registration?

Communicating essential Intune details to vendors for registering devices in Windows Autopilot using group tags that support dynamic device grouping in Intune.

DEPT-LabDevices (customizable based on your department or use case)

 

  • Choose Group Tag that reflects the purpose or location of the devices (e.g., DEPT-LabDevices). For new groups, this tag doesn’t already have to exist. Just let us know what you relayed to the vendor. If you are ordering more devices for an existing group, you can use the same tag.
     
  • Email or securely share with the vendor, the following:
    • Tenant ID
    • Domain Name
    • Group Tag


Example message:

Please register the devices under our Intune tenant using the following details:
- Tenant ID: e202cd47-7a56-4baa-99e3-e3b71a7c77dd
- Domain: UIC365.onmicrosoft.com
- Group Tag: DEPT-LabDevices

Vendor Action

The vendor will use these details to register the devices in Autopilot. The Group Tag will be embedded in the device record and used to dynamically assign devices to Intune groups.
