Obtain the TXT Value
1. Navigate to the website or Application Admin page.
NOTE: The exact steps may vary slightly depending on vendor.
2. In the Admin page, choose the option to Add a TXT record to the domain's DNS records.
3. Click Submit.
4. TXT Values will then be provided by the vendor.
Add a TXT Record
1. Navigate to eip4.cc.uic.edu and log in using your NetID and password.
NOTE: In order to reach this page, you'll need to be on campus, or first connect to a UIC network using VPN.
2. Select DNS.
3. Select Zones.
4. Search for the corresponding zone name (screen shot displays example for medicine.uic.edu. Click the zone name with the eip-dns-smart.cc.uic.edu server.
5.The RRs for the corresponding zone are now displayed. Click Add button.
6. Fill in the following fields in the Add A DNS RR pop up window.
In RR type, select the type of record you want to create. In this case TXT.
In RR name, specify a name for the record.
In TTL, specify the time to live for the record. If a TTL is not provided, use default value.
In Text, enter the string for the TXT record that was provided on the Website’s Admin page.
Click OK.
