Can I use a Respondus with a Chromebook?
A “beta” release of a new Chromebook extension for LockDown Browser is currently available for exams delivered in Blackboard Learn (Original view). This version of the LockDown Browser Chromebook extension also supports Respondus Monitor. During the beta period, instructors will need to allow the use of LockDown Browser for Chromebook on a per exam basis.
Students with Chromebooks will need to download and install the UIC Lockdown Browser from this link:
https://download.respondus.com/lockdown/download.php?id=344933365
You will NOT be able to search for the app directly from the Chrome web store
.
Click on
Install Now
and the link
will direct the Chrome web store, at which point you should select “Add to Chrome” to install the LockDown Browser Extension
on your Chromebook.
If the instructor enables an exam to use the Chromebook version of LockDown Browser and Monitor, it will automatically launch LockDown Browser and Monitor at the appropriate time.
