Overview
Your College of Education Profile is composed of data from several sources:
- Your name, title, contact information, profile statement, profile photo, and CV come from the IT Partners Directory Application. The IT Partners Directory Application also controls whether your profile can pull data from Illinois Experts.
- The list of courses you may teach is derived from campus data (Banner).
- The rest of the data on your profile (publications, awards, research statement, etc.) is derived from Illinois Experts.

College Directory
Contains job title, contact information, office hours, headshot, Resume/CV, biography, and activities.
To edit
- Login to the IT Partners Directory Application at https://directory.itpartners.illinois.edu/.
- From here, you can upload your profile and CV, and update additional information like your biography and activities.
- If you are an admin in the IT Partners Directory Application, learn more about updating job titles, pictures, etc. for others.
Interaction with Profile
Note that if you have an Illinois Experts Profile, please update your biography and activities there.
If you do have a name change, try to make that change in the Campus Directory first. Only use this option if the campus directory cannot help (like diacritical marks in your name.)
Campus Directory
Contains your name, address, and phone number.
To edit
- Go to My UI Info at https://go.uiillinois.edu/myprofile.
- Click on “Access My Profile”.
- Log in with your NetID and password.
- Click the “Edit” at the appropriate section.

Illinois Experts
Illinois Experts is a campus-wide web profile system for university researchers. Tenure-system faculty are given accounts automatically. Additional accounts for specialized faculty may be available by request. Contact IT Partners to learn more at support@education.illinois.edu.
To edit
- Go to https://go.illinois.edu/experts-login.
- You can click “My Profile” to edit certain details (e.g. education history, biography).
- Or click the big, green “Add New” button to add activities (e.g. publications, presentations, editorships, awards).
If you have an executive assistant or other support staff to help manage your profile content in Illinois Experts, you will need to grant them access to your profile.

Which data do you add to Illinois Experts that gets copied to your College Faculty Profile
- Biography: From the Profile Information section, choose “Profile Information” or “Personal Profile”.
- Key Professional Appointments:
- From the Organizational Affiliations section, add an organizational affiliation for a University of Illinois background.
- From the External positions section, add an external position for a background outside of University of Illinois.
- History: From the Profile Information section, choose “Education”. Do not use the “Education/Academic qualification” section.
- Awards: From the Profile Information section, choose “Honors & Awards”. This will split up each line into an individual award.
- Links: From the Links, add a link.
- If the link is marked “Twitter”, it will show up as a Twitter link.
- If the link is marked “LinkedIn”, it will show up as a LinkedIn link.
- Otherwise, the displayed text will be the Description, or the hypertext link if the description is blank.
- Research: From the Profile Information section, choose “Research Interests”. If this is a bulleted list, it will preface the list with a title.
- Grants: From the Profile Information section, choose “Grants”. This will split up each line into an individual grant.
- Services: From the Profile Information section, choose “Academic Service”. This will split up each line into an individual service.
- Teaching Profile: From the Profile Information section, choose “Teaching”.
What data automatically gets added to your College Faculty Profile
- Biography is automatically added to the description in your College of Education profile.
- Publications are automatically added to the Publication list in your College of Education profile.
- Activities:
- Activities that are invited talks, seminars, or oral presentations are automatically added to the Presentation list in your College of Education profile.
- Activities that are not invited talks, seminars, or oral presentations are automatically added to the Key Professional Appointments list in your College of Education profile.
- Prizes are automatically added to the Awards list in your College of Education profile if you haven’t filled in the Honors & Awards section.
- Keywords are automatically added to the Keyword list in your College of Education Profile.
Viewing Your College of Education Web Profile
Your information shows up in your profile, which can be found by going to https://education.illinois.edu/profile[netid] or by searching for yourself on the College of Education’s directory.
This information also shows up in your profile on the Illinois directory.
Your profile data gets refreshed from the various sources at about 5:30 a.m. CST every morning.
