iPadOS Setup

Intro

iPads purchased by the College of Education can be setup in one of two methods. The method depends on their intended use. If the iPad will be used as a personal device by ONE person then use Method 1 below. If the iPad is intended for multiple users OR non-UofI people, use Method 2 below.

Method 1: Personal Use

NOTE: Please DO NOT TURN ON the device(s) until you receive confirmation that the DEP request was completed.

  1. Submit DEP Form
    1. Go to http://go.illinois.edu/EPSHelp.
    2. Select Fill out new form.
    3. Select Workspace One > DEP Enrollment.
    4. For DEP profile enter DEP - COE.
  2. Add the intended user to AD group
    1. Email or Message Michael Painter [mpainter@illinois.edu] or Rob Ras [rras2@illinois.edu]. Ask them to add the NetID of the intended user to the AD group ED AirWatch Users.
    2. There is a 30 minute wait period after the user has been added.
  3. Give iPad to user.
    1. The user will need to connect to WiFi.
    2. The user will need to log in - see screenshot.
    3. Done.

Method 2: Multi-User or Non UofI People

NOTE: Please DO NOT TURN ON the device(s) until you receive confirmation that the DEP request was completed.

  1. Submit DEP Form
    1. Go to http://go.illinois.edu/EPSHelp.
    2. Select Fill out new form.
    3. Select Workspace One > DEP Enrollment.
    4. For DEP profile enter DEP - COE - Autoenroll.
  2. Give iPad to user.
