How do I connect to my Windows virtual server?

There are two ways to connect to your Windows virtual server:

1. Remote Desktop (preferred)

• You can connect to your virtual server through remote desktop clients. The most commonly used client is the built-in Remote Desktop Connection application in Windows, but other clients can also be used. You connect directly to your virtual server through this method, which means that the server name that you use should be <dept-servername>.ad.uic.edu (replacing <dept-servername> with your virtual server name).
   
• Note that if you are connecting from off-campus, you will need to connect to the UIC VPN first. If your virtual server is on a restricted network, you will need to have VPN access to that network.

2. vSphere web client via your preferred web browser

• Please use the following web address to connect to UIC's VMware vCenter Server: https://cc-manage.server.uic.edu/
   
• Please be sure to use ad\NetID for the user name (replacing NetID with your NetID) and your UIC password
   
• After entering your username and password, you will receive a Duo 2FA push notification or phone call, depending on your Duo preferences.
   
• Once you approve the login in Duo 2FA and are logged in, you can select your VM and click the "Launch Web Console" link (under the Summary tab) to open a console to it. Once you have opened a console, you can log in to Windows using ad\NetID and your password.
