This article explains how departments can request the addition and deployment of an Android private application through Microsoft Intune. Department administrators should use this process for internally developed apps or vendor-provided APK/AAB files that are not publicly available in the Google Play Store.

When to Request an Android Private App

Submit a request if:

  • The app is internal or developed in-house
  • The app is provided by a vendor as an APK/AAB file
  • The app should not be publicly published
  • The app is required for daily operations or instruction
  • You want centralized deployment and updates

How to Submit a Request

Submit a request using the Intune Endpoint Management Form:

  • Under Endpoint Request Type, select Support
  • In the ticket description, state that you are requesting an Android Private App deployment
  • Attach the APK or AAB file to the ticket
