There are two different ways to subscribe to a listserv.
Using the listserv webpage
Visit our listserv webpage and browse lists you are looking for. Once you click on your choice, you can enter your name and email address to subscribe to the list. If the listserv you are looking for is unlisted, you'll have to enter its name to be able to subscribe to it. Some lists have open subscription, whereas for others, your subscription must be approved by the owner of the listserv before you can join it.
Email to listserv@uic.edu
Another way to subscribe to a list is to send an email to listserv@uic.edu with the following command in the body of the message (leave the subject blank):
subscribe listname firstname lastname
where listname is the name of the list. For example:
subscribe academy Ada Byron
You will have to confirm the request by email and then it will be processed according to the subscription configuration.
