What types of AV systems are available at UIC?

Overview

The Learning Technology Solutions (LTS) has two types of AV systems available in general-use classrooms with standard equipment and additional features. This article explains the standard features available in our Integrated Multimedia Lectern (IML) and Plug & Play systems. Additionally, you will find a full list of classrooms with their available technology and a breakdown of what additional features may be available.

Integrated Multimedia Lectern (IML)

Touch screen controlled and height-adjustable lectern AV system available with two lectern variations as seen in the photos below.

Standard Features on ALL Lectern-based systems

• Lectern Computer (Windows with software like Zoom, Echo360 Universal Capture (UC, more information on UC), Office Suite, and more installed)
• External Input
  • HDMI (for use with a laptop or other device)
  • Ethernet cable for a wired connection to the UIC network
• Blu-ray/DVD Player
• Lectern Microphone
• Instructor Camera (LTS utilizes three types of cameras with the IML systems. Please refer to the table below to confirm what camera type is supported in your classroom.)
  • Basic (lectern monitor mounted webcam for use with the lectern computer)
  • Intermediate (lectern monitor mounted camera for simultaneous use with an Echo360 Lecture Capture Device and lectern computer)
  • High-Quality PTZ Instructor camera (pan, tilt, zoom adjustable wall mounted camera controlled via the touch screen for use with the Echo360 Lecture Capture Device and lectern computer)
• Digital Projector

Additional Features may be available in Lectern-based systems in addition to the standard features above. Please refer to the table below to confirm what additional features may be available in your classroom.

• External Input
  • Wireless Presentation system (allows you to wirelessly connect laptops or mobile devices to the system. More information on wireless presentation.)
• Document Camera (some document cameras can be simultaneously shared with the Lectern Computer. Please refer to the table below to confirm if the available document camera is supported by the Lectern Computer)
• Wireless Microphone
• Echo360 Lecture Capture Device (Please refer to the table below to confirm if there is an Echo360 Lecture Capture Device installed in your classroom)
  • The lecture capture device is installed at the lectern and can be scheduled on a one-time or semester (recurring) schedule. The device can also record when your press the red "record" button.
• Dual Digital Projectors
