How do I obtain a TLS or SSL certificate?

Tags archive

Only University faculty or staff members may request SSL certificates.

Please visit the SSL/TLS Certificate Service Page to get started.

Note: The primary contact email address must be a University of Illinois faculty/staff or department email address. For business continuity, we suggest using the address of a mailing list or helpdesk system. You may submit multiple addresses: Examples: NetID@uic.edu mailing_list@uic.edu, NetID@uic.edu

We only offer 1-year SSL/TLS digital certificates.

We can only process requests for domains ending in “.uic.edu”; no local domains (“httpx://my-server”) nor IP addresses.

All second-level domains (example.uic.edu) must be approved by the Chief Information Security and Privacy Officer.
