Overview
This article explains how to request a U of I Box account and what to do if you already have a Box account through another University of Illinois System institution or organization.
About U of I Box
Box is the University of Illinois System's approved cloud storage and collaboration platform. It allows faculty, staff, students, and authorized affiliates to securely store, access, share, and collaborate on files from any device.
UIC shares a Box environment with the other universities in the University of Illinois System. As a result, you may already have a U of I Box account if you are affiliated with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) or the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS).
Accessing U of I Box
If you do not have an existing Box account
Submit a Box Account Creation and Migration request to request a UIC Box account. Technology Solutions will assist with account creation.
If you already have a U of I Box account through UIUC or UIS
Submit a Box Account Creation and Migration request to have your existing account enabled for use at UIC.
If you have an External affiliation with UIC
Ask your UIC sponsor or department contact to submit a Box Account Creation and Migration request on your behalf.
If your uic.edu email address is already associated with another Box account
If your UIC email address is currently being used with a commercial Box account or a Box account provided by another organization, contact the Technology Solutions Service Desk for assistance before requesting a UIC Box account at ithelp@uic.edu.
Accessing Box
Once your account has been created or enabled, visit box.uic.edu and sign in using your UIC credentials.
