Body
Your voicemail message can be changed from the Calls Settings in Microsoft Teams, either on the desktop app or the web app (https://teams.microsoft.com).
In order to change the voicemail on a shared account, you will need to login as the shared account. If you do not know the account name and password for your office voicemail, please contact support@education.illinois.edu.
- Go to https://teams.microsoft.com, but do not login yet.
- If you are already logged in to your own account, you'll need to logout so you can login as the shared account.
- Click your profile icon in the upper right
- Click sign out. (fig 1)
- If asked "which account do you want to sign out of?", click your account name
- Now Microsoft will try to log you back in.
- If asked to "Pick an account", click "Use another account"
- On the Microsoft sign in page (fig 2), enter voicemailaccountname@ad.uillinois.edu (using your voicemail's account name @ad.uillinois.edu)
- You should be taken to a University login page, where you will enter the password for the shared account and click Sign in.
- Now you should be inside Microsoft Teams logged in as your office voicemail account.
- In the upper-right corner, click the ellipsis (...)
- In the pop-up menu, click "Settings"
- On the left bar of settings sections, click "Calls" (if you do not see a "Calls" option, you are not logged into an account that has voicemail.)
- Click "Configure voicemail"
- Click "Record a greeting"
- This will initialize a phone call within your browser where you can follow the prompts to record a new voicemail greeting.
