About this service

Description The Campus Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) is the directory containing information on all people with NetIDs on the Urbana campus as well as NetIDs of departmental and group aliases. It contains such data as names, campus addresses, telephone numbers, and affiliation data.

How to get the service Access to the Campus LDAP is available on campus (or via Client VPN) through an LDAP-based client.
Cost No charge
Usage constraints Anonymous queries can pull back a maximum of 50 entries and run for a maximum of 15 minutes. Directory contains data on FERPA-suppressed users. To access this data, service managers must complete FERPA training and request a service account with access to the specific data.

Maintenance hours Monthly patching the 3rd Wednesday of each month between 5:30 and 7:30 AM. Other maintenance may be done periodically, but always weekday mornings between 5:30 AM and 7:30 AM or weekend mornings between 5:30 AM and 10:00 AM.
