Skype for Business

About this service

Description Skype for Business is an application that allows graduate students, faculty, and staff to make and forward phone and video calls, send instant messages, and participate in video conferences and group chats through their computers, IP phones, or mobile devices. Skype for Business can also deliver voicemail as an email and integrates with Office 365 Email (Exchange) so that Skype for Business meetings show up on calendars for invited attendees and resources such as meeting rooms.

Features and tools Instant messaging (IM), phone, E911, long distance, audio and video conferencing and recording, desktop sharing, PowerPoint sharing, Response Groups for call handling, and private phone numbers. Skype for Business also interfaces with the consumer version of Skype. Additionally, we offer a third party Contact Center solution that integrates with the Skype for Business servers at an additional cost. Tools include MyUC, Skype for Business Web Access, and Skype for Business Contact Center.

How to get the service Requests for an individual's Skype for Business account, response groups, role-based accounts, and common area phones are submitted by Pinnacle Department Managers as service requests via Pinnacle.
Cost No additional cost for standard features, including long distance. Additional license fees may be required for add-on features such as the Contact Center for Skype for Business.
Usage constraints The maximum number of contacts in the Skype for Business client is 1,000. The maximum number of groups in the contact list is 64. The maximum number of conference participants is 250. Video quality is determined by the client's available bandwidth and camera with a maximum resolution of 1080p. File uploads from Skype for Business Web App are limited to 30 MB and file uploads from the Skype for Business desktop client are limited to 500 MB.
