Summary

The Pharos Print Center is a centralized portal for users to easily print items that they either upload through the portal or attach to an email that they send to pharosmobileprint@uis.edu.

NOTE: You must be on campus to access the Pharos Print Center.

Once logged in to the My Print Center there are many options for users such as viewing printing allowance, upload files to print, view files to print (wither uploaded or sent via email), control print setting on individual document, send files to a specific printer, see how much a print will cost, or even see past activity.

  1. Job List - When users first log in to the Pharos Print Center, the first screen that they see is the Job List screen, which shows a list of documents that they have submitted for printing or Custom Charges created by an operator.

    The following table describes each column in the Job List screen in Pharos Print Center.

     

    Column Description

    Type

    Shows the format of the document you have submitted. For example, Text, Word, Excel, etc.

    Title

    Shows the document name. This is usually the document name from the application that created the job.

    Print Preview

    Hover over the Print Preview icon to view job attributes (e.g. black & white, double-sided, number of pages per side, number of copies).

    Non-MobilePrint jobs (i.e. those sent via Pharos Queues or Popups) and Custom Charge jobs will show N/A. This means that you cannot change the print options for those jobs. Double-click the Print Preview icon to see a preview of the document before printing.

    Pages

    The number of pages.

    Shows N/A for Custom Charge jobs.

    Pieces of Paper

    The number of pieces of paper on which the document will be printed.

    Shows N/A for Custom Charge jobs.

    Submitted Date

    Shows date when you submitted the document.

    Cost

    Specifies how much you will be charged for your print job or custom charge job.

     

  2. Activity - Users activity in the Print Center such as released print job and the cost of the print job as well as credits to users print account
  3. Payment Method - When printing your jobs from the Pharos Print Center, you can see where you charge your print jobs to. Generally this will go towards students Printing Allowance. If Printing Allowance funds are all used then funds will be deducted from user's Campus Cash
  4. Print Options - When a print job is listed users can adjust specific settings prior to printing the items by selecting the check box next to the job in the list
    • Color: Set whether to print the job in black and white or in color
    • Pages per side: Sets the number of pages that will print on one side of a sheet of paper
    • Sides: Selects single sided or double sided for multi-page prints
    • Copies: Sets the number of copies to print
    • Print range: Selects either a single page or range of pages to print from a multi-page print
  5. Destination - Select the Pharos Printer that you would like to release your print job to.

Releasing Documents using Print Center

  1. Select the print job(s) you want to print by checking the box next to the job type.
  2. Select or search for a printer to send your print job to by clicking on the area next to the Print button.
  3. Click Print to send the selected job(s). A dialog box confirming payment appears.
  4. Click Confirm to release your print job.

Releasing Job at Pharos Print Station

Print jobs uploaded through the Print Center will also show up when users swipe their iCard at Print Stations around Campus. to release a job at a Print Station:

  1. Swipe iCard at Print Station
  2. Locate print job in the list and select it
    • Print jobs are named the same as the file upload to the Print Center
    • User's NetID will be listed next to the file name in the OWNER column
  3. Click the Print button
