Add your Kaltura videos to your Canvas assignments, pages, quizzes, and/or discussions. Embed Video (no download option)
Once you have your video added to Kaltura, follow these instructions to add it to your course:
- Go to your Canvas course.
- In the Modules area, create or edit any page, quiz, discussion topic, or assignment--any area in which there is access to the Rich Content Editor.
- In the toolbar above the textbox, click on the Embed Kaltura Media icon (looks like a rainbow star burst). If you don't immediately see this button, you may need to click on the kebab menu (three dots) to expand your toolbar.
- Click the Embed button next to the video you want to add to your Canvas content.
- The video will be embedded in the content editor.
- Click Save or Save and Publish when you are done editing your content.
Embed Video (download option)
Once you have your video added to Kaltura, follow these instructions to add it to your course:
- In Canvas, click on My Media (folder icon with play button) in the blue, global navigation menu.
- Click on the edit pencil icon next to the video you wish to embed in your course.
- Click on the share button (icon is three dots connected by two lines).
- Click on the embed code option to select it, and copy it by pressing CTRL + C (Windows) or Command + C (Mac).
- Go to your Canvas course.
- Go to the Modules area of your course and create or edit any page, quiz, discussion topic, or assignment.
- Place your cursor where you would like for the video to be added.
- In the menu above the textbox, click Insert > Embed.
- Paste the embed code in the pop-up window that appears by pressing CTRL + V (Windows) or Command + V (Mac).
- Click Submit to add the video code to your page.
- Click Save on your Canvas page.
