Connecting Your Mac to a Classroom
- Built-in HDMI: If your Mac has a native HDMI port, plug directly into the room's HDMI cable for the most reliable connection.
- USB-C / Thunderbolt Ports Only: Use an official Apple-branded USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter to connect to the HDMI cable.
- Avoid Third-Party Hubs: Generic or unbranded USB-C adapters frequently cause display handshake, HDCP, or audio-pass-through failures with the AV systems in the classrooms.
Connecting Your Windows 11 Laptop to a Classroom

Technical Specifications for Adapters
When choosing an adapter that will be compatible with LTS-supported spaces, please look for the following specifications:
- DisplayPort Alternate Mode over USB-C

Borrowing Adapters
The Technical Helpdesk, located in the Library's Idea Commons, has adapters available for checkout, but they may not be compatible with Apple devices. They are open Monday - Friday from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm.
