Why do I get an error message when accessing Blackboard's Grade Center?

Summary

Using old Internet browser versions can lead to the Blackboard Grade Center not loading properly. Most errors can be fixed by clearing cache and cookies.

Body

UIC's LMS administrators keep up with all Blackboard Learn updates to ensure the best user experience. However, users’ experience is also based on the Internet browsers they use to access Blackboard. Browser vendors recommend updating to the latest version of their software and that requires Blackboard users (instructors and students) to make sure their computers run periodic updates. Some older versions of browsers from some vendors may have rendering issues with newer versions of Blackboard Learn.

In particular, if the Grade Center in Blackboard is not loading or delivering error messages, and if you are using the latest versions of your Internet browser, you may need to clear cache and cookies.

Please log out of your Blackboard course site and clear the cache and cookies. Visit Refresh your cache for more information on how to clear your cache.
