How do I Upgrade my Browser to Meet TLS Security Protocols?

In order to maintain the highest security standards, promote the safety of data, and align with industry-wide best practices, UIC students, faculty and staff using an older browser will no longer be able to access web-based services including,, and Microsoft Office 365 and must upgrade their browser.

Software companies are now required to disable old TLS protocols and implement a more secure encryption protocol, TLS 1.1 or higher, in order to meet the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) for safeguarding data. This impacts Technology Solutions based on a number of companies we work with to provide the UIC community with services including,, and Microsoft Office 365.

There is no fix or special accommodations that can be made for this change.
