Where can I get support for my online course?

Preparing Your Online Course

Schedule an instructional design consultation four to six weeks prior to your course start date by visiting Instructional Design Consultations and scheduling a 50-minute consultation with an instructional designer for the following services:

  • If your course is an existing course:

    • Copy a course site from a previous term into the new term course site.

    • Review the course elements and data from the previous term with you.

    • Make recommendations based on student feedback and data.

  • If your course is a new course:

    • Copy the UIC Blackboard template into your course site.

    • Review the course elements with you.

    • Make recommendations based on instructional design research.

  • Support you in utilizing the learning management system and other technologies by providing guidance and resources for training.

Running Your Online Course

You can receive ongoing support from the instructional design team by scheduling 25 or 50-minute consultations throughout the term by visiting Instructional Design Consultations.

You can also receive support for incidents and requests for access to teaching with technologies such as Blackboard, VoiceThread, Echo360, Panopto, and other technologies in centrally-managed classrooms by emailing LTS@uic.edu, visiting the UIC Help Center, or calling 312.413.0003 option 1 (if you leave a message, a ticket will automatically be created).
