How does the Portfolios tool in Blackboard work?

Portfolios tell a carefully crafted story about what your students can do.

  1. Be sure there are "Portfolio" and "Portfolio Homepage" tool links in your Blackboard course site. "Portfolio Homepage" allows students to go back and review their entire portfolio. You can add both or you can just create a general tool link.
    • If you do not add the two links (or just the general Tools link, which is a link to all tools in Blackboard), students will not be able to access it at all. More info about adding tool links can also be found in the following video:

  2. Now that you have access links in your Blackboard course site, you create an Assignment for students to turn something in. The difference from a regular "Individual submission" with this process is that you need to select "Portfolio" submission under portfolio types.
