Description Your NetID is a unique identifier assigned to you across all University of Illinois campuses. With your associated NetID password, it serves as your login to most University computing and networking services.

How to get the service Students initially set their NetID Password through NetID Claim.  Staff and faculty can initially set their NetID Password through the UI New Hire system.  All customers can reset their NetID Passwords using the Identity and Access Management (IAM) password manager.

Usage constraints There are requirements for acceptable passwords listed at https://answers.uillinois.edu/illinois/page.php...  The Campus Administrative Manual outlines acceptable use policies for passwords at  http://www.cam.illinois.edu/viii/viii-1.1.htm. System will display names of users, even those who are FERPA suppressed. Some with the level to be a password registrar is considered approved to see such data, though.
